Pastoral Care
The Pastoral Care Support Service welcomes you to Calvary Health Care Tasmania. Our service offers ongoing emotional and spiritual support to you and your family.
Pastoral Care is grounded in the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary mission of being for others. The values of hospitality, healing, stewardship and respect are the basis of our compassionate care for patients and their families.
The Pastoral Care team includes pastoral carers, hospital chaplains, volunteers and visiting chaplains representing local faith communities. This support service is professional, free and accessible day and night, including weekends.
The following Pastoral Care Support Services are available:
- A friendly visit
- Emotional and spiritual support for you and your family especially in times of crisis
- Grief and loss support
- Relaxation sessions
- Holy Communion and sacramental ministry including anointing of the sick, are available at your bedside on request
- Visits by chaplains can be arranged at your request
- Regular Services of Remembrance
- Prayer before theatre or any other time.
The Pastoral Care Support Service is offered with:
- Sensitivity to your needs and feelings
- Confidentiality
- Respect for your beliefs and values, regardless of racial, cultural and religious differences, gender or status.
- Respect for your spiritual or faith stance
Chapel Services
Lenah Valley Campus
- Catholic Mass: every Friday at 12 noon
- Anglican Eucharist: every Thursday at 8.45 am
The chapel is located on the 1st floor near the stairs.
St Johns Campus
- Catholic Mass: fortnightly on Fridays at 10 am
- Anglican Eucharist: every Wednesday at 12 noon
The Chapel is located on the ground floor near the Kiosk.
St Lukes Campus
Chapel located Level 3, Barclay House.
St Vincents Campus
- Catholic Mass every Wednesday at 5pm
Chapel located on the ground floor.
The chapels are open day and night for the use of patients, families and staff. Services of Remembrance. These are held twice a year on the Lenah Valley and St Johns Campuses.
