Palliative Care

In our care for the sick and dying our multi-disciplinary care team strive for excellence and justice, always respecting the sanctity of life. We involve members of the allied health care team as appropriate, for example hospice care volunteers, pastoral care.

We extend loving and compassionate care to families and friends supporting them in their care of their loved ones.

In five states across Australia, the Little Company of Mary delivers Palliative Care. Each service is committed to and focuses care upon local community needs.

The Gibson Unit is a purpose built Palliative Care, Haemotology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and General Medicine Unit, located at the St Johns Campus of Calvary Health Care Tasmania.

Our Unit mission states: "In a caring and supportive environment we provide high quality care to our patients whom we regard as individuals, each entitled to respect, dignity and confidentiality."
