Advisory sessions

These aim to match technology to needs, at home, school or work. We encourage the involvement of a client’s support team (e.g. family, carers, therapist, teacher) as active participants in the planning and decision making process.

Loaning of equipment for trial

Communication devices, alternative access options for computers, switches and environmental control units may be borrowed for a short-term trial period. The loan service is provided at no cost.

Training in the use of equipment

Training sessions for specialised equipment can be organised for the client and their support team, to learn the functional use of the equipment.

Information

A written report is provided which includes the outcomes of the advisory session, the suppliers of recommended equipment and its cost. Please note Communication Access does not provide funding for equipment, so other avenues may need to be considered.
