Cardiac Specialists
The Calvary Cardiac Centre has three specialists on site at their Lenah Valley Campus. A cardiologist on site is essential to the Coronary Care Unit, as it allows for prompt expert back-up in all situations. It is also integral to our ability of providing acute care services at on our Lenah Valley Campus. Our Cardiologists are all highly skilled in their field of expertise.
Dr Warrick Bishop
Dr. Warrick Bishop is a consultant cardiologist and a clinical academic and works with Calvary Health Care Tasmania, the RHH and UTAS.
Dr Bishop was qualified with a Bachelor of Medical Sciences in 1985, MBBS in 1988 from University of Tasmania and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physician in 1997.
Dr Bishop has trained in cardiac imaging techniques and his main research interests are:
- Research project established in conjunction with the Echocardiography Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital studying the TEI index and its utility and anthracycline therapy.
- Carbohydrate regulation in cardiac health
